Teresa (Terry, nee Lewis) Smyth passed away on September 3, 2021. She was 88 years old. Terry was born and raised in New York City. In 1956, she married fellow New Yorker Jack Smyth. In 1960 they moved to Delaware and in 1970, they moved to Pennsylvania and remained continuous residents of Bucks County. Jack and Terry raised three children; Gregory (Karen), Andrew (Pamela, Shirley), and Lizanne (Jim Pasquarette).
Terry was a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing, St. John’s and Stockton University. She worked as a nurse in various hospitals and spent her career at Saint Mary Medical Center where she worked for 25 years. She was the visionary behind the establishment of the Mother Bachman Maternity Center in Bensalem, PA and served as the Center’s first Director prior to her retirement.
In addition to her children, Terry is survived by grandchildren Ryan Smyth (Angela), Courtney Smyth (Joe), Jay Pasquarette (Megan), Kelsey Smyth (Dillon), Drew Pasquarette, Allison Smyth and Luke Pasquarette and great grandchildren Lily Pasquarette and Claire Smyth.
Terry enjoyed traveling, reading with her Book Club friends, playing cards, watching movies and volunteering at Meals on Wheels, Doylestown Hospital Clinic, Doylestown Library and the Michener Museum.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bucks County Meals on Wheels or Doylestown Hospital Ann Silverman Clinic.
