Roy R. Draper, Jr. 57 of Dunmore, died Monday, April 14 at VNA Hospice at Geisinger CMC in Scranton . His wife is the former Joann T. Novorosky.
Born in Dunmore , he was the son of the late Roy R. Sr. and Josephine (Stanco) Draper. He graduated from Dunmore High School and served in the U.S. Navy as an electrician. Roy enjoyed hunting and fishing, but treasured spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Ali. He was a fan of the NY Giants and the NY Yankees.
In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by his two sons: Christopher Draper and his wife Michelle and Jeremy Draper and his fiancé Heather Rowman; his sister Proca Cortazar; his brothers: Benjamin & Joseph Draper; his granddaughter: Ali Draper and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 24 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, 322 Chestnut St. in Dunmore to be celebrated by Reverend John A. Doris, pastor. Cremation took place at Strauch Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to American Cancer Society, 712 Keyser Ave. Taylor , Pa 18517 . Arrangements entrusted to Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, honored provider for the Pennsylvania Cremation Society.
