Familia McCarthy

Here is an English translation of the condolence left by Hector Pico
We are very saddened that the ultimate enemy, death has reached our dear sister Mary E. “Betty” McCarthy. We remember her for being an exemplary woman who supported her husband to achieve spiritual goals. It was a challenging time when they arrived in 1970 to help in the preaching work. There where only 5 congregations in Bucaramanga, now we have 70. We assisted an assembly of 700 people where we had her husband The American directing the orchestra, now we nearly have 12,000 delegates in attendance at our conventions.
She was also a hard worker who helped support their young family by driving a microbus (in Colombia these days those vehicles are true classics) that vehicle became truly famous when it caught on fire in center city but yielded no injuries.
Without a doubt her support was essential to her husband in being an exemplary family here in Bucaramanga.
Ohhhh,,, as she would say would say when she admired something, we await when Jehovah calls and she will answer, (Job 14: 14,15). In that time, the sadness that now plagues us will turn to joy as we are reunited with our loved ones that had fallen asleep in death.
How great the kindness of our Father Jehovah, for having sent his beloved son to give his life in exchange for this marvelous hope. (John 3:16).
We send a long distance hug to her family. Be assured that we will always remember you; this will continue being your home for as many times as you would like to come and visit us here in Bucaramanga.
