Maria de la Cruz “Ruth” McWilliams, 75, of Cresco, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017.
Born May 3, 1942 in Central, Arizona, she was a daughter of the late Jose de Jesus Flores of Mexico and Isabelle (Tapia) Flores of Arizona, and sister of the late Rosaline Reyes, Albert Flores and Daniel Flores. She is survived by her estranged husband, Douglas A. McWilliams Sr. of Canadensis, and her children: Anna McWilliams of Pocono Summit, Douglas A. McWilliams Jr. of Morrisville, Maria E. McWilliams of Anchorage, Alaska, and Anita Mignat and husband Markus of Cresco.
Surviving grandchildren include: Jessica Zudjelovic of Canadensis; JoAnna Conroy of Tobyhanna; Andrew Conroy of Allentown; Jenny Repsher of Cresco; Christian McWilliams of Denver, Colorado; Ana McWilliams of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Adam and Matthew Mignat of Cresco; and Samantha Smith and husband Devante of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Great-grandchildren include: Noah, Ethan, Evie and Sophia Zudjelovic; William Transue; and Rowen and Hendrix Smith.
Maria is also survived by her siblings: Carmen Flores of Phoenix, Arizona; Marguerite (Flores) Jesse of Phoenix, Arizona; and Chris and wife Penny Flores of Peoria, Arizona; sister-in-law Susan Flores; and several nieces and nephews.
Maria spent her life devoted to her family, often forsaking her own desires in order to help those in need. She had a generous heart, a strong work ethic and had a deep Christian faith. Over the years, Maria was employed by Motorola, Mount Airy Lodge, Rippling Brook Cottages, Weiler Brush Co., Naomi Cottages, Truly Tasteful, The Pines, Daniels Top-o-the Poconos and Spruce Lake Retreat. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery and had a love for Zane Gray novels.
Maria most desired to be reunited with her mother, father and her siblings, and will be laid to rest with them in Arizona. There will be no services.
