Margaret M. Dymond, 68, of Shavertown, died on July 29, 2016, succumbing to a long fight with cancer.
She was born in Kingston on Oct. 2, 1947, daughter of the late George and Margaret McGuire, making her home in Lopez, until, as a young girl, her family moved to Forty Fort. She attended and graduated from Forty Fort High School in 1965.
She resided in Shavertown since 1972. She worked for Humphrey’s Apparel and Toys for over 20 years and was always known to help a customer with gift ideas, school clothes suggestions and the like. She always received compliments for designing and building Humphrey’s window displays, drawing from her artistic and creative side, which she seldom got to show except to those she loved. Later, she worked for Luzerne National Bank in Swoyersville, from which she retired. She was well known and liked by her customers, who would specifically come into the bank to see her and talk about daily life.
Surviving are her sons, Lauren E. and his wife, Brooke Dymond, of New Market, Maryland, Timothy F. Dymond, of Shavertown; grandchild, Connor F. Dymond, of Shavertown; brother, Robert S. and his wife, Joann McGuire, of Lopez; sister, Lola and her husband, Michael Mattie, of Forty Fort.
Private funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Forty Fort United Methodist Church, Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Celtic Hospice & Home Health at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre, 25 Church St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
