Hans Jesper Thomsen, Jr., 83 of Pottstown, died February 24, 2017, in Lakeland, FL. He and his wife, Peggy Anne Gallagher Thomsen had been married 34 years.
Born in Menominee, MI he was the son of the late Hans Jesper Thomsen, Sr. and Doris Neverman Thomsen. He was a 1956 graduate of Carthage College, IL with a BA in Business and a graduate of the University of Washington, Seattle with a Master Degree. Hans retired from the Boeing Company after 46 years of service; his final assignment was as a Business Manager with the Computer Services Division supporting NASA in Huntsville, AL. He was a member of St James Lutheran Church Pottstown, PA and Tri County Active Adult Center, Pottstown PA. Hans was active in his church and had an encyclopedic knowledge of the bible. He loved to travel, was a huge John Wayne fan, liked watching the History Channel, and in his last years was learning Spanish.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters Kristin Lynn Thomsen, Elizabethtown, KY and Ardra Thomsen Farally, Glenside PA ; a son Eric Lee Thomsen, Mill Creek, WA; sisters Ardra Kretzmer Lakeland, FL, Nancy Durn Cascade, WI, Shari Cotton Helena, MT; grandchildren Jason Michael Baird, USMC, Annabell Doreen Farally, Glenside, PA, Great grandchildren Sean, Megan, Natalie, and Alyssa Baird Clinchfield, GA.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Doreen Kay Thomsen, a step son John Eric Kampsen and a brother Paul Henry Thomsen
A memorial service will be held May 20th at 11:0am in St. James Lutheran Church, 1101 High Street, Pottstown, PA 19464. With services by Rev. Kay Braun, pastor.
