On Sept. 12, 2017, Florence Ann Edmonds went through the open door into the everlasting arms of God, and it is well with her soul. Born April 1, 1934, she was the daughter of Elmer and Mildred Keller. If you would mention that she was an April Fool’s baby she would promptly state that it was Easter Sunday the day she was born.
Tootie, as she was known, is survived by her husband of 63 years and friend of 70 years, C. Barrie Edmonds. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, April Dawn. Additional she is survived by six children: David, of Lock Haven, James, of Spotswood, N.J., Marc, of Williamsport, Diann Schmouder, Holly Edmonds Lucas, both of Lock Haven and Laurel Cowher (Kevin E.), of Williamsport. There are also 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grand children. Florence’s beloved sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Keith Lawson reside in Naples, Fla.
Flo was a 1952 graduate of The Williamsport High School and earned her R.N. degree from The Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She was employed as night supervisor by the Williamsport Home for 23 years. A lifelong member of the former First Baptist Church of Williamsport, she also belonged to the local chapter of The American Business and Professional Women and was a charter member of the Tiadaghton Quilt Guild.
Florence was an accomplished fabric artist in sewing, quilting and counted cross stitch. She was also a calligrapher. She and her sister Arlene delighted in selling their creations at various craft fairs.
The family will provide the flowers, a memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Church, Lock Haven, with the long time family friend, The Rev. Rodney L Caulkins of Lake Monticello, Virginia presiding.
