Dimitri John Diekewicz, 70, a resident of Manchester, entered into the presence of the Lord on Friday, June 26 at his home. His wife is the former Betty Farmer. The couple had been married 50 years.
Born in Camden, NJ on October 16, 1944, he was the son of the late Adam and Carmella (Parisi) Diekewicz. He served proudly and honorably with the United States Navy on the USS Sierra during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After his service in the Navy he obtained a Mechanical Engineering degree and was employed as a Plant Engineer in manufacturing and industrial design. He enjoyed vintage automobiles, clock repair and gardening.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Dimitri John Jr., sisters Carmella Al-Mutairi, Lighthouse Point, FL. and Mary Blum, Cherry Hill, NJ, two maternal aunts and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service is planned for a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
