Alfred S. Kielbasa, 83, of McAdoo, died Aug. 8. “Al” to some and “Fred” or “Freddie” to others, Alfred also answered to “Lefty” because he did most things with his left hand, except writing.
Born in Shenandoah to John and Mary Kielbasa, Alfred lived in McAdoo, where he worked as a lineman for PPL until retirement.
His love of home remodeling was a big help to his entire family. He also loved fishing, making stained glass, and teaching his grandchildren about his Polish heritage.
Alfred passed away at The Jewish Home of Eastern PA in Scranton.
Alfred was preceded in death by his daughter, Annette Kielbasa.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice M. Kielbasa; two sons, Martin, Youngstown, Ohio, and Paul, Avoca; and his six grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
No services are planned at this time, but a memorial will be planned at the family’s convenience. Please respect the immediate family’s request for privacy at this time.
